I am not much of a Landscape photographer but was happy to see my picture of my home town Sala Commacina printed in DP Magazine. The editor added a little bit of curves to the foreground (although my version was intended as a silhouette!) and left me with some nice comments:
Mario captured this glorious pre-dawn light in Sala Commacina. He couldn’t sleep in the intense heat of the summer. so got out of bed and started shooting at 3am. There’s a lot to like about Mario’s colourful, pre-sunrise shot, and it’s interesting to note it was taken in the heat of the summer, as the colours in this landscape really convey the temperature – the red and orange tones are positively sizzling!
The composition is beautifully observed and Mario has done well to get the right angle, leaving just enough room to keep the island in the middle of the lake separated from the peninsula.
